The International Police Work Dog Association opened its membership to civilian canine handlers in the fall of 2005. BARC members joined IPWDA in January 2006, and throughout the year participated in certifying under IPWDA for both Advanced Human Remains Detection and Disaster/USAR Search as well as attended the weeklong Nationals in Rhode Island.
